Would you be willing to sell these? I'd love to buy some!

Yes of course! I'm offering them for $30 each (a few dollars more or less depending on detail.) due to the upscale quality of the yarn I used.

I'm certain you could sell them. Have you ever thought about partering with stores???

The last local yarn shop closed years ago :saddummy: and there's one consignment store in the town and I don't know if they take handmade items?

I should probably dust off my old etsy store.

You should! I'm sure if you put a lot of work into online networking, like with a facebook and stuff, you'd get a lot of orders for apparel like this. It's adorable!

Do you just post your work or do you do comments and other stuff ? Maybe you just need better marketing!

Here on dA I obviously cross post to a bunch of groups and  I pretty much invented the art of complaints artwhoring...but I think on tumblr, because of the nature of the dashboard feed and because crochet projects take a comparatively long time to complete, crochet work just kind of gets lost in the shuffle. Tumblr also doesn't really have as many avenues for self-promotion as dA does either.

I think I would have to make the cone much smaller proportionally, or else it would be too heavy and cumbersome to wear

Hmm, spiralling wire along the inside as you worked the cone (either crocheting over it or just tacking it on the inside, whatever your preference) might work, paired with stuffing the cone. I've done that a couple times when I made hoods styled after Link's hat, and I think the angle was similar to the placement of the cone...

Ooh, i might have to try that.

However, it wouldn't be practical for everyday wear, more like a wearable art piece.

How about make the cone the same size as now so it looks like you piled too much ice cream on it?

Good point, though I think that's true for most 'novelty' pieces like this so I think it would still do well (and I bet there are people who'd use it for everyday just because :XD:)
